Distance in Fitbit is either number of steps x stride length (for step-based activities), or derived from GPS (if supported by your device, and if applicable to the activity being logged). I’m afraid your activities on water do not qualify for distance.

Hi

I tend to set my charge 2 on “workout “ at the start of my paddle board session to get the calories burned/ heart rate info. For the distance I have just discovered an app called GeoSUP which can track distance, speed etc and you can add photos of your session too. I’m using my old phone in a waterproof case which then I upload my info once connected to WiFi.

It it would be great if Fitbit and GeoSUP could  be linked in the future.
