That's great! Whatever it takes to get people off their busts and on their
feet. I spent three hours last evening wondering around my town collecting
Pokemon and talking to people. It was great! I would normally be watching
TV. So it's definitely getting me moving.

My favorite quote floating around on FB is "Michelle Obama spent nearly 8 years trying get people to exercise. Nintendo did it in less than a week. Thanks, Obama." LOL!

I'm about to move up to level 14 and its all about TEAM VALOR!!!

Game is created by Niantic, which is an Alphabet company.  The Pokemon name is probably licensed from Nintendo.  Google, in fact, got people up off their butts to exercise.  Nintendo just lent them their name and made 9 billion doing so.

Since the root game Ingress has been out since 2012 in various flavors, being rebranded as Pokémon Go under the Pokémon franchise certainly appears to be the secret sauce, imo. As far as time, I'd say more like twenty years rather than a week though.

Hey! I was actually at the Anaheim Convention Center this morning and I noticed the crazy amount of pokestops but haven't been able to get a chance to fully check it out. I get horrible reception at Disneyland anyways so I'll end up getting kicked out of the servers 😞

I just recently got started with this app. I've caught 7 Pokemon so far, although only 5 of them are individual ones - 2 are duplicates. I'm not able to do it that much because the battery life on my Smartphone stinks. I do what I can, but I can only do like 20-30 minutes at a time. I definitely get my steps during those times.

That whole area in general has a crapload of Stops.  I don't venture into Disneyland, but I do walk my way to the DT Anaheim area.  There are a bunch out there.  What you really need to farm PokeStops is to find a cluster that you can do "laps" and hit all of in a 5 minute period.

Downtown Disney has a crapload of stops as well for those who do not have Disneyland passes or do not want to go into the parks

I invested in a battery powerpack for other reasons, aka long hikes, and just to have for emergency battery juice.  But I do find that I use it to recharge for Pokemon Go.

Woo Team Valor! walked just shy of 30,000 steps yesterday, and about to hit level 21!  It is fun meeting and talking to other players while walking about. I am in love with this game! Also picked up a 20,000mah battery pack for 35 bucks on amazon that can run my phone for probably 16 hours. I get tired well before my phone dies now 🙂

I have a battery pack that I use now too. It has helped somewhat.

I still find it kind of funny to see all the people milling around with their phones, even though myself, and now my husband, are doing it. We went to the park in the next town with our two boys, and there were a lot of people there walking around, either catching Pokemon, or sitting in the places where the gyms were set up at.

I did the same thing, red is my fav color but I was drawn to instinct for some reason, I've gotten my mom who's 53 into it and my uncle whose 43 into it and we all go as a family. I started a few days before my mother and she's catching up to me quick (level wise) I just got to level 15 today. I can't Pokémon hunt for too long cause my HTC M9 Gets hella hot when leaving the screen on like so... sometimes I walk around with an ice pack LOL

I went out walking this afternoon. Most of the time, I was mainly walking, although I did have Pokemon Go open because I was trying to hatch 2 10K eggs. I started out at 2.0 and finished my walk at 6.1. I was also catching Pokemon when I came across them, and doing the few Poke stops that are in my town. I even caught a Vulpix.

This is what my walk looked like

I am on team instinct and just hit level 16.   Its a lot of fun since playing pokemon go I hit 20K steps in one day and then again the next day.   My daughter goes out with me and now my son which is great.

Stay safe when playing and remember to stop walking when catching that pokemen and you can tap a pokemon when you are walking across a street and wait till you get to the other side and safety and then start flipping your poke balls.

I actually wasn't doing very well with my fitbit and was kind of thinking of getting rid of it until I started playing Pokémon Go. Joined up some challenges with people I added and now I'm hitting my step goals daily.

Feels really nice 🙂

Hi everybody, I'm currently on level 8, but I tend to run out of poke balls too fast. I'm currently competing with my nephew to see who can catch more pokemons, he's kind of an expert in the matter so god help me haha. Smiley LOL

You can do google searches for maps for pokemon go. Some users upload where they've found pokemon and they also place indicators of where there are a lot of pokemon stops which give you balls and other items.

Tip for leveling: Don't evolve anything until you have 40 or so evolutions to do in one sitting. Use a lucky egg and then evolve everything. You get double the experience for 30 minutes while using a lucky egg. Pidgeys are the cheapest/easiest things to evolve so stock up on candy to evolve them and then have at it.

I got a smartphone just so I could play this game. I was doing okayish with exercising before but it was all on a treadmill. I'm actually going for runs outside now. Outside of conventions, I've never gotten over 20k in a day but I have recently because I'll go play this game in all my spare time.
