Has anyone payed for the premium Fitbit Dashboard? And is it worth doing?. I am burning 750 + calories a day extra but weight not moving. I didn't know if it would help. Any help appreciated thank you.

With a daily deficit of 750 calories, you should be losing weight. How long have you been on this regimen? Do you achieve this via a combination of dieting and exercise? Perhpas you could take a look at the timing of your meals, not only in relation to your exercise routines/habits but also in relation to your bed time. You should also drink 10-12 glasses of water per day. I would also suggest doing a post-audit on your food and exercise logs. It could be that your burn rate is overstated; and that your calorie intake is understated. I am not suggesting that this is something you would do purposely ... But it may be worth checking any manuallly logged activities and verify the caloric burn with another web site. This is something I usually do whenever I key in a new activity, just to make sure that the fitbit estimate is reasonable, which it is most of the times but not always.

 

Just shooting in the dark here, since we don't know much about your profile, fitness level and habits, etc. Another possibility that is that your profile is in error; your agre, gender, height and weight are all important factors in the fitbit algorithm.

Just to add to my earlier post, the Premium won't help you with the fact that you're not losing in spite of your planned deficit. But it might help to give you a clearer picture of your diet composition; and the trainer functionality is also quite nice. As suggested earlier by another fitbitter, your best bet is to use the trial version to make your own assessment.

I feel your pain.  With the fitbit I have more than doubled my calorie burn per day.  Plus I do strength training. Amazing, over the last 3 weeks I have actually put on 3 pounds.  This is crazy, as my caloire intake is around 1300-1400 a day.  I don't know if premium would help.  But it really is discouraging to work this hard and acually gain.

Muscle weighs about 4 times as much as fat.

Thank you for your reply. I think I will give it a try for the week anyway. But doubt I will buy it.

Wildfern It is hard when the scales don't move, but I think I have to be patient, have you noticed tho that your shape has changed, my waiste is a lot smaller by 3 inch's.

1 pound of muscles weighs the same as one pound of body fat @SunsetRunner 

 

Only the same amount of body fat takes up alot more space than the same amount of muscles since muscles are denser.

 

It's like what weighs more?

 

One pound of bricks or feathers? Likely going to say 'bricks', but both weigh the same. Though bricks are denser than the feathers, and the same amount of feathers just are more in volume..

Since doing strength training, weigh can stay the same or get a bit more since the muscles are getting stronger.

 

Don't look at weight itself, rather did your body fat percentage decreased? When body fat is lowering, while muscles getting stronger, the weigh loss of fat can be compensated with weigh increase in muscles.

 

There are also other natural fluctuations:

 

  • Water upkeep (eaten to much salt);
  • Hormones;
  • Some food can take up to 36 hours or longer to fully digest, it's possible that there are a few pounds of food remnants still inside the tummy (there can be a weight loss, but not yet reflected on the scale);

So, try reading what I said again ...

 

Muscle weighs about 4 times as much as fat.

 

To elaborate for you, (by volume) muscle weighs about 4 times as much as fat.

Therefore, you can lose 4 times the volume of fat, and gain 1 times the volume

of muscle - making you look a lot slimmer, but weighing the same.
