Just a quick question..
How long does it normally take for your resting heart rate to get back to normal after being ill?
My RHR normally hovers around 62 - 66 on a weekly basis (depending on how much sleep I get) but I was ill a couple of weeks ago (cold, feaver etc) and it jumped to 81 at it's peak and is aroung 76 - 79 since then.
Not particually worried as I know I haven't been getting that much sleep recently (I work nights and it's a busy time of year!) averaging about 5 hours a night (weekly average again) - I was just curious..
Anyone know or have any info?

@dao2009 My RHR took a month to get back to normality after a Total Hip Replacement. Now over the last few months it reacts to weather temperatures and sore throats and colds. Only moves higher a couple of points. The current RHR below has peaks where our temperature climbed to be in excess of 105oF.. The other image is includes my operation in July.

HR differences when ill can be due to hydration level as well...less hydrated higher HR. Also it can be from you body fighting off a virus.

Still around 72 but like I've said I'm not that concerned.

How did you include graph? I see no imaging options on this blog.
When posting, the top bar has several options, including a small icon that looks like a mountain with sun above it, labeled as "Insert/edit image". Click on that where you want to insert the image and browse to the image you want to insert. That's it...
