Now that Summer is here in the northern hemisphere, how do you switch up your fitness routine?
With warmer weather outside in a lot more places, what are some ways you can explore the great outdoors and meet your step-goal? If the area you reside in doesn't have warm weather, please share anyway how you plan to spend your summer. 🌲🌻😎

I have sort of a unique way of staying active during the warm weather. I’ve been a fan of paddle boats (aqua cycles) since I was 12 and able to rent them while on vacation with my folks. As soon as my hubby and I got our own place on a small lake in Northern Michigan, I bought my own paddle boat and have been happily paddling with the turtles and loons at sunrise ever since.

I live in Montreal so 6 months a year the weather is bad and it forces you to become more creative and appreciate outdoor activities. Since you are talking about Steps 😉 then running is the way to go!
I like to use the environment to switch up a bit my fitness routine based on my goal and because I live in the city, I just have to be creative to break the routine.
Some examples:
- if I feel like pushing myself then I'll take a running route where I know there's hills and I'll go up and down through the streets.
- If I'm feeling like I need a steady run to breathe then I'll just go run around the park.
- If my weekly challenge is floors, then I'll go running and when I see a lot of stairs, I'll do a circuit up and down
Yesterday it was really sunny and my weekly challenge was Distance so I just did a HIIT running session:

This weekend, if the weather won't collapse, my plan is to do more rock climbing. In the UK, the climbing gyms stay closed so the only option is real rock. The place I live is flat as a pancake and far from anything climbable so whenever I plan the outdoor journey I have to plan ahead. It's usually 2-4 hours drive and when all B&Bs are closed it has to be planned as one day trip (maybe it's time to get a camper van ;)). Not an easy thing considering English weather and soft lockdown. Other outdoor activities like cycling and rowing (I live by River Thames) are also part of my usual summer. Running for now is off the table (problem with right ankle) but I expect to resume it in about 2-3 weeks. Number one is always rock climbing 🙂

I do training at home in the morning. But in the evening we walk about 3 hours with my children
