I'm excited that I've finally reached 12 weeks and I can begin to use my trainer. The data says that I am down 23 cals a day for the activity calculation. I'm not even sure what this means and I don't see any information that "trains".
I walk everyday for between an hour and two hours. Im very proud that I've been able to do that and I hope that I can continue being so consistent. I walk at a fairly quick pace and most of my workout is in the cardio range with a few minutes at peak. I've lost 16 pounds since I started in April, so I know that what I am doing is effective. Am I missing some training guidance? The trainer says that I am "lightly active". I am 70% on the way to being active. I think I'm more than lightly active but whatever. My activity level is 97% higher than women in my demographic. What does it mean to be down 23 cals a day? Are they suggesting I exercise more? Eat less? Eat more?
Thanks in advance!

I think it's important to differentiate between the Fitbit Trainer and the Food Plan, the latter of which helps you track your calorie intake in relation to your energy output.
The trainer consists of a 12-week program, in which you're encouraged to increase your activity levels and is specific to the goals you set when you begin the program. By entering your existing weight and your ideal weight, the trainer can adapt to help you reach your goal! The Fitbit Trainer is available through our Premium membership- learn more here.
A food plan helps you achieve and maintain your weight goal, and is centered much more around your food intake. Also, it's free! By logging your meals each day, you can track your progress towards an estimated goal based on caloric intake and burn.
Hope this helps, and doesn't make anything more confusing.

There is a good explanation of the trainer under a post called "premium trainer". The trainer has been giving you an activity goal for the last 12 weeks and the report is a summary of that time frame. I am only 2 weeks into using my fitbit, and I was confused by the trainer. Reading your post and then the explanation post really helped!!
Good luck, you are doing great!

Thanks for replying. I looked at the file that you mentioned, but sadly, I still don't understand how you use the data.

I understand this. I have the premium plan and just finished 12 weeks. Now, how do I use the data in the Trainer? I must not have been clear with my questions.
