Hi friends:
I'm not sure how to ask this, as I'm not exactly sure of WHAT the name is of what I'm trying to find.
Does anyone know if there is an APP for an iPhone XR or iPad that provides like a virtual journey for use while you are on a stationary bike?
With winter here, I just loathe getting on the stationary bike b/c it is so STATIONARY and BORING. Sometimes, I'll turn the TV on to distract.
But I was wondering if there's anything *SPECIFIC* for the iOS platform (not Oculus or Android) that might put you on a virtual journey to look at.
Even better, if there was like a VR experience that one could use.
I think it would be so cool to be able to look around while biking, and I know there are apps like that for Oculus VR including VR GAMES.
But I don't have the money for an Oculus.
Anyways, I guess I was just thinking it'd be neat to be able to use VR while on a stationary or a treadmill just to give you a virtual OUTDOOR experience while working out on the stationary.
Thanks.

Something like Zwift should work 🙂 not looked too much into it as I kind of want to go the occulus route and cant afford to change my bike into anything stationary with tracking right now, but I do know your speed is used in game against other players 🙂

Thank you. I'm not really sure that platform is for ppl such as myself. I was watching their video. Seems like it's a good off-season (poor weather) option for all the Lance Armstrong-types.
I found VZFit, but while close to what I'm looking for requires an oculus and a $14.95 monthly fee. This looks really cool, TBH!
I think maybe I'll just have to accept having to get an Oculus. That platform really seems to be where it's at for virtual fitness games and exercise.
I wish I could go some place and try one out, or go to Gym that had these installed and available for use.
Looks quite cool, really! In many ways, it's EXACTLY what I was looking for!
Just need to start saving $, I guess. Like a Youtuber I follow says, "Not all of us have FAT WALLETS!"
🙂

Those monthly fees are what keep me away from it lol. I'll keep the VR things to jumping around to beat saber, and the cycling to the lanes 😄

Yes, me too.
But I understand they have a FREE program, too, that at least allows you to try a rotating "virtual explorer" and a game.
I can't understand how people can afford Peloton. I'd try it, though it's not really VR.
I think for me anything that helps keep my mind off of the repetition of a stationary cycle would be helpful, not just VR!
As a 54 year old, I know me. While I'd like and almost prefer to work out in a full gym, I know from my past that after the first week or so, the hassle of sweaty gymbags, Roid-Monsters and fitness junkies can make a fella like me not feel very welcome.
So the convenience of working out at home is what works.
I lived in AZ for about 5 years, but back to Buffalo for many years now. Generally, from Dec through Mar, it's so cold and snowy that going outside is not an option. So working out indoors (basement) is where it is for me.
Sorry to ramble. Just trying to figure out how to overcome the mental / psychological issues of stationary exercise.
I love going for walks outdoors, with my dog, or going on a bike ride. Change of scenery, fresh air, birds chirping...always something fresh to keep the mind off the fact that you are pounding the pavement!
🙂

Hey Guys,
Just ran across this thread after someone put Fitbit as a referral source for VZfit. Figured I would hop in and see if anyone had any questions about the product, how it works etc. We have a very active facebook group who love to chat to new users as well 🙂 We are also running a discount on our site if you were still thinking about it!
Let me know if I can help!
