What a difference a year makes

Last January I was in "Recovery" mode, recovering from (most recently) a broken leg and COVID, and I hadn't run regularly in over four years; my first 5+ mile run last year was a 5.2 mile slog on 14-Jan and so today, roughly 50 weeks later, I went out for another run of the same distance.

As I've mentioned elsewhere on this forum, in the last 50 weeks, I've managed to log just over 1,200 running miles which have gone a long way toward helping me get back into shape; with today's run in the books, a look at the stats shows just how far one can come in a year:

YearMinutesSteps
20217411,427
2022507,342

My only real annoyance, if you can call it thus, is I can no longer go out for a 5-mile run and expect to log a minimum of 10,000 steps.  😋

You've overcome a lot over the past year @shipo. And the same distance in just 2/3 the steps means the shoes last longer too, so you've got that going for you.
