What kind of exercises do you do to get fit or get your steps in?

Right now, all I'm doing for my steps, or to get fit, is a lot of walking and using my elliptical. There's only so much you can do with walking, especially when you're stuck at home. As far as the elliptical, I just reached to where I could do 30 minutes in one sitting.

I'm slowly working myself up so I have that option to do for those days that I can't get outside, for one reason or another. Once school starts up, I'm going to start doing those walking exercise DVDs that I've seen around, but I'm also looking for other things I can do that will help me with my fittness venture...especially things that I can do in the house once the weather gets nasty and stuff.

For that very reason, I would never use weight as an indicator of success.

Clothes sizes I would find acceptable, but that's not in my realm of goals either.

I use stamina (walk/run distance and timing, ability to extend play time) and strength related (vertical jump, lifting gains, 40 time) goals.  Each of these are facts that don't fluctuate a whole lot on a day to day basis and identifies when I'm not training hard enough or I need to step it up.

@Mukluk4 - I guess as far as clothing, I'd like get down to a 16 or 18. I have a big bone structure, and I think if I tried to go down any lower, it wouldn't be healthy for me.

G'day Guys and Gals, I am so happy I live on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. I think we may get down to about 11 Degree Cel. for about 5 minutes in the early hours of the morning then we bounce up to 22 Degree Cel.

Cheers and happy training

I work out from home all the time. I lift weights 3 days/week and do some form of cardio 5 days/week (right now its usually a Hiit workout) There are a lot of options for home exercises. You can buy a DVD, watch youtube videos, or look online for various exercise routines. Not sure if you have pinterest, but they have a lot of home exercise routines and ideas!
