Zoom Zoom June Step Challenge and Photo Scavenger Hunt

The May Flowers step challenge is nearly over so it’s time to start thinking about next month.  I know that nowadays everyone thinks “Zoom” involves sitting on your butt in front of a computer and talking, but instead go with the retro meaning and add a few (higher intensity) intervals to your daily exercise — maybe a couple of 10-30 sec jogs in your daily walk, or 10-30sec sprints in your run. :-).  Be creative.

   
How It Works:

The primary purpose of these monthly challenges has been to keep track of your daily step goals for the month; though many of us track other things as well, like body weight exercises, sleep, trips to the gym, logging food, etc. This is not a competition to see who can do the most of whatever, instead it is a challenge to measure your consistency. So whether you do 1k, 5k, 10k or even 40k steps a day, this is measuring how many days out of the monthly total you can hit your goal.

 

Some might have a constant goal of 10k steps every single day and others might have a variable goal throughout the week, (and some might even plan days off!) for example.
Monday -> Friday = 10k steps a day
Sat & Sun = “6k steps a day,” or “not tracking”

 

Regardless of how you structure your daily goals, the only thing that matters for the monthly challenge is whether or not you reach what you set out to do.

 

Suggested Posting Format
1) Post either your constant or variable step goal.
2) Keep track of the # of daily goals achieved out of the monthly minimum and or monthly total

 

Although you certainly don’t have to post daily, you’ll likely stay closer to what you set out to do by updating the thread several times/week.

Injury Notice
If you injure yourself during the month and need to scale back due to the injury, then all you have to do is adjust your goal for that period. If you normally do 10k steps a day but pull a hamstring and decide to do minimal walking (2k steps a day), then all you have to do is change your goal.

I have had to lower my daily step goal from 10,000 to 6,000 due to the bummed knee. The good news is I have lost the weight I’d gained since the beginning of the month and .2 kilo. Now only 1.8 kilos to lose to reach my goal. Oh boy 🙄

Not going to make the weight goal this month. I was down a bit early on, but gained it back over the past two weeks. Not a big difference though.

 

Finally got a few new Zoom Zoom pics of me on (and getting off) my Unicycle. This is the 26" wheel. It's part of my identify now. We are off to visit friends this afternoon and I've been asked to bring it along to demonstrate :-).

I’m still having problems with my knee so only reached my goal of ‘eat a piece of fruit’. Will add it to my goals tomorrow.

Thanks @denteenzo. I have taken some pain pills, and practiced RICE: rest, ice, compression and elevation. It seems to get a little better every day, thankfully.

I've been AWOL for the last few months.  I lost my MOJO, and it had streaked so far in front of me it seemed impossible to get it back again.  I joined a gym this month though, so hopefully I can get back into things in July in a couple of days time.

@Baltoscott Thanks for the head's up!  I'll have to reassess my goals.  Some weeks of June were better than others, and I don't know that I can expect myself to keep up with the amount of steps I was getting with working (still WFH mode).
