biking with the kids

Hello!

As a gift to help me continue weight ( 50 pounds down since Christmas!) my husband outfited me wth a trek bike , a cozy bike trailer for the babies and the toddler to be able to start biking. We love them!

But my question is this-- how do I log this? The trailer weighs about 20-30 pounds, my Kids together weigh about fifty. Normally I walk for an hour (3 miles) which burns 6-700 calories - so I'm curious what hauling the kiddoes around works out to so I can keep track of my calories burned since the fitbit doesn't track cyclng well?

Interesting question.  I assume there's no database activity for it?

This guy just logs double his mileage.

Hi @MissKai !

I would Googlle "bicycling, calories" and you'll come up with a number of sites where you can enter your age, gender, current weight, etc. and they'll calculate your caloric burn for you. So once you locate a site that seems to offer intelligent estimates, using your own weight as a baseline; then change the weight to include the extra luggage you're pulling and use that number to log your caloric burn when you manually book your bike rides with the kids.  Makes sense?
