calorie adjustment for pregnancy

Ive noticede that there is a 2nd and 3rd trimester option under settings, but Im wondering what changes when you choose one. Does it adjust your calorie intake or anything? I didnt notice anything different about my dashboard or log page. So I really have no clue if its taking into consideration that Im 23 weeks along.

I am wondering the same thing.  I am just now in my 2nd trimester and checked the little dot, but nohting seems to be different.  I would like to know if this does anything or if I should just track everything myself.

Help @Fitbit

Thanks!

Hi There,

I just got my FitBit as well and I was wondering the same thing. I'm in my 3rd trimester. I'm a fairly fit person and not overweight, however the FitBit is telling me that I am. I'm sure if you took into account only my weight and height without considering the fact that I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant all BMI calculators would consider me overweight. I know that for my height and weight and for being 7 1/2 months pregnant, I'm not overweight.

I find that stat on my dashboard frustrating. 😞

I'm in the same situation. I've switched mine to pregnant but I see no changes. Any updates on this topic?

Somebody go to your Log - Activities tab - Calories burned graph for the 5 min periods.

Note the calories burn in 5 min. Divide by 5 x 1440 = BMR Fitbit is using for all non-moving time.

Now go change the setting off a certain trimester and go view the same place.

Any change?

Yes! But it was very small, 4.3 to 4.1 calories burned per 5 minutes.

Glad it's doing something, but wish it was reflective in weight measurement too. I'm just waiting for it to tell me in a few months that I'm overweight (even though I know I'm not, it's still something that should be fixed). Others report that it shows overweight when pregnant.

Small?

Compared to the original unadjusted amount?

That almost sounds like a 100% increase, or almost double, what it is without the trimester option.

That's big increase.
