After injuring my hip and being told I shouldn't run or walk long distances, I got myself a crosstrainer as it's low impact on my hip. It has ifit on it which means I can walk anywhere in the world and watch the scenery passing by on my iPad using Google street view...very clever and entertaining.

iFit rocks. Some people complain that the interface isn't as easy as it can be, but it is really cake to use it. It is easy. I have been creating routes for myself all over the world. Lately, places like Copacabana and La Paz. The latter is really challenging - it is 17 miles long and is on a road that is disaffectionately nicknamed the Bolivian Death Road. From a fitness standpoint, it is a big workout. Some of my routes are off the beaten path and there may be gaps here and there in the Google Street View but the satellite view is just fine. I watch movies on a big screen while I am running so gaps in Street View do not bother me.
If you join iFit, feel free to look for me there under the username Farmboyphotography. If you want to share routes, hit me up. 🙂
