Hi what should I log kettle bell workouts under? I hear that you can burn up to 20 calories a minute doing them? im happy to underestimate the workout as it does seem overly high ammount of calories expended?
What do you all think? Im quite new to Fit bit and very much enjoying this new chapter in my life which i think will continue for quite some time!

I'd log it as "circuit training" if you are referring to kettlebell workouts where the exercises are organized in circuits (moving from one to another, not resting after each exercise) and your heart rate is elevated. The Fitbit activity database calorie burn estiamtes are based on MET charts. I've not seen kettlebells listed in fitbit, but on another MET chart I saw them included with circuit training. Whether you can burn 20 calories a minute dpends on your gender, how large you are, how hard you are working, your fitness, etc. It would be impossible for me. Often the calorie burn numbers sited in marketing blurbs are for the highest burning outlyers in a sample they tested--perhaps a tall, muscular, 18 year old , over 200+ pound male. If that's not you, it probably isn't quite that high. The nice thing about Fitbit's estimates is that it is adjusted for your BMR so it will be relative to your profile. But you should see verya ctive mintues after you log the activity if you use "circuit training". If your workout was slower, weight lifting type exercises with rests between each exercise, log it as weight lifting and according to the intensity.

I'm in the same situation. Since I use a heavy kettlebell and work it like free weights including swings, snatches, presses...etc. I log it under weight training with heavy bells and with lighter bells I use workout mode. It's all based on your heart rate anyway so it's usually really accurate with either.
