pilates

Pilates doesn't seem to show up in the 'most common activities' thing, and so I have no idea how to log it - obviously fewer 'steps' but still exercise... not used my fitbit for a while but I'm sure there used to be more standard saved activities than I can currently find!

Hi Zenscara, I can't see to log my activites as pilates without knowing how many calories i've burned. I've done piltes for about 6 months now and have only had the fitbit for 3 weeks. Still can't figure this out.

I generally use my watch to record the workouts then change exercises to Pilates or Cardio.

I do yoga and created a custom activity that is now under my favorites. I used a calories burned calculator, like this one: http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc for my original calories burned estimate. It's not perfect, since it can't factor in intensity but it at least asks for height, weight, age and gender and gives you an estimate based on the amount of time you performed an activity.

Now, when I log yoga, Fitbit already has the "baseline" for calories burned during a certain time period and adjusts if I enter more or less time rather than me having to input calories every time.

I can't see any entry for Pilates either. An immensely popular exercise regime so common Fitbit why is it missing?

I used http://www.livestrong.com/article/301961-pilates-calories-burned-per-hour/ to estimate my Pilates entry. Don't over estimate the calories you burn in this exercise regime after all its more about core stability
