I got my fitbit for christmas and most days get 10000 steps, I have a desk job so I make an effort each day to get up every hour and walk. I also do the steps a lot more now then i Use to, my issue is stress eating.
We have over a foot of snow here right now and I have some job stress right now so I tend to nibble my way thru the day on junki. I have been taking more fruit, and yogurt and celery and carrots but just need to stay on track.

I tend to stress or emotional eat... I have started trying to get up and do something else to keep my hands from grabbing something to nibble on. Believe me it's so difficult but that trick has been the one that seems to work the best for me.

I know how you ladies feel. after moving back to Wa st from Tx and becoming a full time grand parent of a newborn who is now 19 months old . I stress ate every cookie in this town. I was never big on sweets but since menophause i have this sweet tooth. and stress does not help it. and either does the grand baby. she gets a goodie and so does Nana. But since getting my treadmill and my one for xmas i have gotten a little better but still find myself reaching for the cookie jar. and suggestion ? I have about 25 lbs to go and i would love to not have to buy another plus size anything again.Happy stepping lady's

Stress eating is killer. I struggle with that too. I know a lot of people have a thing against Weight Watchers but I joined them a few years ago and have lost 75 pounds. It's a combination of good food choices and exercise that get us to our goals... but support is so helpful. Just an idea. And if you do sign up with WW look me up: HERE.

Congratulations @lizlocked! I also tend to eat a lot of sweets when I stress out and it's difficult to control yourself. What has helped me is to have my water bottle wherever I go and if I get a craving to eat some chocolate or cookies, I drink a lot of water. It's a challenge but I'm trying my best to avoid eating a ton of calories.

I'm going to be on the road today so I am bringing my little blender bottle thing with some shake mix ready to go! Wish me luck... McDs is a killer (especially when you snatch fries from your kids happy meals).

For me, when I get stressed, I go to the gym. I like taking that energy and putting it to good use with some awesome music to push my workouts harder and further. I find that's the best outlet for me to keep from eating. I have never been a big snacker and do not want to develop the habit, especially not after losing fifty pounds over the last year and getting back into shape.

I have been stress eating since yesterday. I found out that my company will be downsizing and I may loose my job on June 30th. I did not complete my steps yesterday and today I am way behind. I need to get my head together and throw out the chips and get back on track with steps. Need help.

I'm sorry to hear that @pukka65, whatever happens, you will get back on your feet in no time!
Stress eating is expected under this circumstances, I'm sure you will be fine since it seems you have mentally prepared yourself to stop eating chips and doing your best in motivating yourself.
Keep up the good work.
