swimming tracking does not work

hello,

just wondering if someon had a similar expirience. I purchased Charge 3 mainly to track my swimming 50m intervall freestyle mixedwith a few plaps breast.

I find the Charge pretty much usless, I do 600m swimming and charge tells me I did 125m.

Two seperate tries same result.

am i missing something?

Cheers

Steve

Hi @steve223  Well my waterproof Fitbits all track my swimming very well (including the Charge 3).  The trick is to learn to communicate with your tracker in a way it understands. The only way it knows you have finished a lap is for your arms to stop moving for a couple of seconds. I dont mean literally 2 seconds, but a brief time. This can be done by stopping at the end of a lap and taking a breath before you take off again, or giving a good push off from the wall so that you glide briefly before you start your arms moving again (you can kick during the glide). Having worked that out, my lap count is pretty well spot on each swim I do.

Ok thanks you I will try this again though have to say that I rest around 30 seconds after each lap as I do interval swimming. Yesterday it actually worked correctly but did not show how many any calories burned (no sufficient data)
