I have been over 200lbs for the past 4 years now and Although my goal is to lose 100lbs I'd love to just get under the 200lb mark. to weigh in at 199 would be so amazing since it has been 4 years since I saw that mark. Has anybody been at this point? I have 39lbs to get to 199 and I am feeling determined today but always seem to get off track. would love to hear from others in a similar position so we can encourage each other. Today is my first day back on the fitbit haven't used it since June. so trying to get back on track.
I made a post yesterday but my post got hacked. would love to hear from people who are trying to reach the same goal.

Hiya!
Good for you for getting back to it!!! Rome wasn't built in a day..and you probably didn't get to your current 237 in a day or a month either. Not in the same position as you in needing to lose, but happy to add you as a friend...encourage you when you're rocking it, and taunting you when you're slacking (and expect the same in return!).
Big part of reaching your goals will be in what you're eating (obviously) and can make the task easier or harder, which I'm happy to help with too!!!

I started out in January at 242. I have lost 35 pounds since then and have been hovering above 200 for months now. I have increased my walking to 12,000 steps a day or more and often 14,000. I am making a dedicated effort to beat the 200 mark.
Good luck with your effort.

thats great theresab I knew i wasn't the only one that wanted to hit a milestoen of getting under the 200 mark. Thats awesome that you've lost so much since january and that you are maintaining.
I have started with trying to eat healthier and drink more water, right now my steps are only at 6000 a day but I am only on day 3 of getting back on track so I am trying to get into new routines. its always a work in progress

Lee,
I thought it would take me forever to break the 200 mark. I started from 300 lbs, though on Nov 1, 2013. I ate right, ate less, stopped snacking, and walked my ass off. That resulted in negative calorie count. I became very OCD about eating only non-processed and fresh foods. Even when my sorry excuse of a body and mind would whine and complain and "please just let us sleep in one more hour,", I would go out and walk.
Over time, I was able to walk farther and faster. More calorie burn. Until, BAM!!! I hit 200 and sailed right past it. June 18th, 2014. I was even more focused to get to my initial target weight of 170 lbs, however. So, I kept going.
You'll get there, Lee. You have to. Just become a little OCD about it and stick to the basics.
Oh, BTW, I did get to my goal. 169.75 lbs on Aug. 22, 2014. If an old fart like me (58 and 5'8" with MS, Type II Diabetes, and chronic thyroiditus) can do it....I'm sure you can, too.
Lew

Lee123,
I am in the same boat. I know what my "big" goal is but as of this week I changed my focus. I have decided I will focus on logging my food/drink. No matter what it is I will log it. I also changed my settings. This is a HUGE step for me in the right direction. I made my weight/food and all public to friends. I have asked for their help on cheering or calling me out if needed. Here is to positive thinking and hitting our goals!

I'm totally there with you. I went from 180 to 252 at my heaviest over the last 3 years. I started in June again at 233 with the goal of being under 200 by my family vacation to Maui (October 5). I'm at 209 now and am thinking I probably won't hit my goal by that date.
Am I going to give up? Nope. I've made it SO far. If I don't hit it by then, I'll just push out my goal.
Under 200 isn't my final goal, but it's a good start. I'm glad to see that you're doing the same thing by chopping up your major goal into minor goals. You're not alone. 🙂

move2lose,
That was brave of you to open your food log to friends. I too am focused right now on logging and stickign to that. once i can seewhere i swerve off the path I can go from there to change my habits. It a long hard struggle buti also realize that this weight didnt accumulate in a week either.
hope we can encourage each other here.

That fantastic that you've made it to 209in just a few months. even if you dont hit the 199 before your trip you've still managed to stick to your program and have obviously accomplished alot. Way To GO! it gives me hope and helps mewhen i realize that i'm not to only one reachign for that mark.

If you're wanting to log your food and exercise, I HIGHLY recommend myfitnesspal. Their database is HUGE and you can connect it with your Fitbit account so your readings can be accurate here. The phone app also has a barcode scanner (my favorite feature). You scan the barcode and the nutrition facts pop up and you can add your food from there. If you decide to do it, I'll friend you there.
