I’m also a manual wheelchair user and I received mine today. From what I have read, there aren’t any settings specifically for wheelchair users. However, other wheelchair users have mentioned in several forums that it is quite accurate with calculating “steps.”

Hi & welcome @TeaLeaf91

Thanks for your response. Which Fitbit did you get? Let us know how you like. @charmcaster2019 and the rest of us are interested in your Fitbit experience as a manual wheelchair user.

Hello, I have the Charge 5. It’s too early to provide a detailed description of my experience, I’ve only had the product for 2 days. However I will say that navigating the UI is quite easy. Swipe left, right, up, and down and double tap to go back. I have limited hand dexterity and have had no difficulty accessing what I need on the device but I will most likely invest in a wrist band that is easier for me to use. Also, I have yet to determine what are considered appropriate goals (“steps”, calories burned, distance etc.) for my condition, I’ll need to do a bit of research. Although the following comment isn’t a reflection of the product I own, I thought I’d mention that I was quite grateful to see that there are a handful of exercise videos specifically made for wheelchair users on the Fitbit app.  Unfortunately, there aren’t any exercise modes for wheelchair users. That being said, If Fitbit were to provide more features and guides that are specifically targeted for wheelchair users, that would be much appreciated.

Thanks for sharing @TeaLeaf91  and letting us know that there are some exercise videos for wheelchair users on the Fitbit app. Since there isn't an exercise mode specifically designed for wheelchair users, I suggest using the generic Workout one. If you would like instructions on how to customize the Exercise app on your Charge 5, you can check out this post with video: How to Customize the Fitbit Exercise shortcuts  Although the video shows a Charge 3, the instructions are the same for the Charge 5.

You and @charmcaster2019 might also be interested in checking out YouTube for wheelchair exercises. I did a quick search and found numerous videos that you might find helpful.

We look forward to reading about your updates and progress.
