Thank you for sharing this. While I am having no problem with the exercise part of my journey, I must admit that I struggle with the nutritional area. Very helpful. 🙂

Thank you! I've recently increased the intensity of my workouts, so this article really helped remind me of the importance of protein.

My only warning would be that high protein diets long term are not healthy. You lose weight but hurt your heart and other organs in the process.

High protein diets are highly dangerous. They can cause ketosis, and ketoacidosis, and can kill you - that's not a good way to lose weight. The best "diets" for weight loss, and energy to exercise, are 60% to 80% complex carbohydrates (as natural as possible, as unprocessed as possible, non-animal based).

I'm not suggesting anyone partake in an all protein diet because of course that would be dangerous. I don't agree with the 60-80% carbs, though. I eat about 60% protein and 40% carbs and that's been great for me. @SunsetRunner

60% Protien is rather high. Aerobic athletes would usually be at about 60% Complex Carbohydrates.
Also, meat products take about 4 times as long to transit, and the stuff putrifies in the intestinal tract, which can, with prolonged excessive intake, lead to several negative medical conditions.
