I did it a couple years ago and had good success but I started it at the wrong time. I started Nov 1st and the first 17 days was good then the next 17 days happened to have thanksgiving it it with 4 seperate dinners that week. I stopped and have tried to start over many times but just cant seem to stay with it. I am sorry if this doesnt help you, I wish you luck. I may just have to try again because it did work the first 17 days.

Hi,
I started the 17 DD about a month ago. I have had lost 12 lbs on the first cycle and I am currently in cycle 2. I haven't lost any this cycle, but I am going to stick with it through cycle 3 and then go back to cycle 1 as it suggests.
So far I have found it pretty easy to follow and I am excited to see how much I can lose. I have about 30 lbs left to go.

I'm confused - how does it work? Do you follow the diet for just 17 days and then go back to your old diet after that? Is it just for temporary weight loss? I've never heard of this and wonder if you guys can give me info.

No, you follow each cycle for 17 days with an optional transitional smootie day in between cycles. It really is just cutting out bad carbs and then you start slowly adding them back in in cycles 2, 3 and 4.
It's a great way to help you eat better -- fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, etc. I just haven't found it terribly restrictive, so for me it is great. You do each cycle for 17 days, so you are starting a new part of it every 17 days -- you don't get so bored. You go through the first 3 cycles, and if you haven't lost all the weight you want to, you go back to cycle 1 and start again. You keep that up until you get to your goal.
I would suggest reading the book and seeing what you think. That's how I started.

I was looking for some info before I go out and buy a book on it. I already eat a fairly healthy diet, so I don't think it would be a fit for me. Thank you for taking time to explain it though and good luck in your fitness goals!

This is the first time I hear something like this. I have to investigate a bit more and then try.
