I just spoke with a representative from Fitbit to express my displeasure in recent changes in the retention of information in my food log. I was told that a new system was just recently put in place so now all of my food information that I was logging for my doctor is gone. I have gone from being diabetic to prediabetic. I was recording everything in the note section of the food log so that I could share information with my doctor when I go for my appointments. Now all of that information is gone. I believe that at the very least Fitbit should have sent out an email to alert the consumer as to the changes. Had I known that I would no longer be able to retrieve this information after the new program, I could have at least printed my logs and the doctor and I would have had some documentation to look at and discuss. I was told that there may be some changes going forward based on consumer response to these latest changes. Again I say it would be nice if Fitbit reached out to us to let us know. I am very upset. I am supposed to see my doctor next month and I have no information to show her. Arlene Sharp

I completely understand your frustration. I think though in today's app world, there is an expectation of monthly if not weekly updates to apps. think how often FB or pinterest or game apps are updated. I get a notification daily that something is changing on some app. You may want to switch over to a notes app that will archive your information or use fitnesspal which is specific to food logging unlike the fitbit app. Whatever you choose to replace it with, congrats on your improved health- I didn't know that someone could go from being full on diabetic to not since in full on diabetes the pancreas is not working as it should be. huge kudos to you and your doctor.
