Dinner for Two

Me and my hubby have started trying to be healthier, but one of the problems we are having is cooking healthy for two. I enjoy cooking but it is really hard to cook for just two sometimes with out having extra left over. Usually left overs wouldn't be a bad thing but he loves to eat and I want to eliminate some of the temptation. 

 

Does anyone know where I can find some good healthy recipies for two? Or share some that you have tried personally?

I love the Cook's illustrated books. They have one called "The Complete Cooking for Two Cookbook: 650 Recipes For Everything You'll Ever Want to Make". I haven't used this particular book but I own most of the others and the receipes are great!

 

If you want to go healthier I'd suggest a book I heard from the grapevine: Healthy Cooking for Two (or Just You): Low-Fat Recipes with Half the Fuss and Double the Taste. The author is Frances Price. It was recommended as a good healthy option.

 

In the past when I cooked (I'm on liquid fasting right now) I used to cook extra, and package it up as full meals right away. That way no one was tempted to over eat since they were diving into another full meal.

That is a good idea to go ahead and package the extra up immediately, I might have to try that thanks for that suggestion.

I take leftover to work the next day for my lunch. Or perhaps freeze it straight away for another meal.

Those all sound like great ideas but my problem is posting the calories to my daily chart.  Can any one tell me how to log in say a table spoon of mashed potatoes, 4 oz. of real chicken,  fish or pork.  Fresh veggies and fresh fruit?  and not frozen, canned or fast food which is all I seem to find on my food chart.  I also can't seem to find where to post this question and after an hour of looking and being directed to places you would not believe I thought I would just ask here and maybe someone could help.  Many thanks.

@TeriHCI also put the extra servings away before putting it on the table. Stops Hubby from having more

 

@totallyconfusedSearch for Mashed Potatoes its there same with the other foods

You will have to change the serving size but that's easy just tab back on the field and change it
