Easy Meal Suggestions

ANSWERED

Looking for quick/easy meal suggestions.  I normally have protein and veggies either roasted or steamed.  Starting to get bored with the same routine.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Do you have a slow cooker?  I am a huge fan of the skinnyms.com slow cooker stuff:

I find that meal prep (and freezing) is an easy way to put stuff in the slow cooker when I'm super busy.  They also have a compiled cook book called skinnyms. slow cooker (or something of the like).

All low cal, and you can modify it as needed/wanted. 🙂

I loooove my tacos!

(I never used to eat them with shells, I still don't.)

1 lb lean ground turkey browned with onions and maybe a dash of garlic salt

For the seasoning:

2 teaspoons chili powder

1.5 teaspoons paprika

1/5 teaspoons cumin

1 teaspoon onion powder

3/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Dash of cayenne to your preferred level of heat

I top with shredded lettuce, a little bit of cheese and 100% nonfat Greek yogurt!

You can use leaf lettuce in place of a taco shell if you'd like, too!

Check out yummly. You can do a search for recipes based on whatever you are in the mood for, and they list the caloric content per serving most of the time. Crock pots are really handy. I dont know what I would do without mine! I live by myself and plan my meals from the yummly site and pack in the fridge. It"s a little work on the weekends, but pays off big-time during the week.

Crock pots are awesome! I love cooking, but anymore I don't have a lot of time to make complicated meals. Pinterest is full of recipe ideas though.  We make a lot of soups in our home. Since we are tight on our budget it gives us a meal that can be used for multiple days, multiple meals. Tacos, as mentioned, are also super easy and fun! Another awesome kitchen gadget that has made its way into our kitchen is a rice maker. If you like rice, I strongly suggest picking one up! Not only can you set it to cook while you are gone, but a lot of them come with steamer options too (we broke our steamer plate in ours though 😞 ). Some nights I mix up a yummy cashew chicken sauce and all I have to do is get the rice cooking in the rice maker and cook up some chicken breast in the sauce! Easy peasy!

Meal prepping is super nice if you can do it.  And if you plan your meals by the week, it will also keep yourself out of trouble from grabbing "convenient" fast-food or stocking up on junk food.

I use Pinterest a lot for differnet quick meal ideas. I like it because I like to see a picture of what the food should look like after it's cooked before I make it lol.
