Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the community and looking through a lot of really great posts. Have any of you heard of or tired the Dolly Parton diet??
Does it work? I've read a lot of pros and cons about it and wanted to reach out here to get a better look at it.
I work an office job and have to stay at my desk 95% of my day. I need a lunch that's filling but as low on calories as possible.
I've also seen a lot about Bento lunches here. Does anyone have any good ideas for what they pack in the Bento boxes? I'm looking to get some for me and my 3 young children for their lunches. They love veggies.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this and help with ideas.

Welcome @lilt1841 - I had to google it and all I can say is OMG the cabbage soup diet is still around? Since you mention children, please don't let them see you doing old fad diets. You mention that your kids love veggies, so that's a good thing. You don't mention if you have a little, or a lot of weight to lose. It's all relative but I might give you different advice depending on how much you need to lose. Everyone loses weight differently. I believe in restricting nothing, but tracking everything. Sometimes people can write down everything they eat for a couple of weeks and identify a single bad habit that does the trick. My personal choices usually run to lean meat with spices more than sauces, lots of veggies, some fruit, etc. I'm not a big bread fan, but in the freezer I have some whole grain bread. I'm more likely to have mixed rice than pasta or potatoes. For me though, nothing is really off limits.
I haven't done bento boxes, but they seems like a good idea to make sure you get a mix of things for your lunches. Last year I went through a phase of making salads in quart jars. Cold meat or chicken in the bottom with some salad dressing, then layers of other items with lettuce on the top. They were kind of cool and I could make a week's worth pretty much all at once. Tip out onto a plate or into a bowl and it makes a nice lunch as well.

Thank you for your response.
I don't have much to lose. 5lbs would do, but would like to drop 10lbs. I do track what I eat and try my hardest for 1200 or lower calories a day. I try to walk on my breaks and lunch at work. I have a long commute to work daily, so I haven't been able to go to the gym in months.
I'm not a picky eater and neither are my kids. I try to look up different recipes often. Growing up, my step-mom didn't really teach me to cook. So I try to find different things to make, but have been struggling with finding healthy things my kids would like too. They like veggies, but prefer them as a snack and don't want to eat them with dinner.
