What is the best thing to eat before bed? Bed time is between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m and I ate dinner at 7:00 p.m. but now I am hungry.

As a binge eater, I would take a special trip into town after a big dinner and look to do damage. It started buying a bag of pridge farm milanos or something real sweet and finishing the whole bag before i even got home. Then things progressed where I was buying a 2nd item on top and sometimes even finishing both items before I pulled in the driveway (basically gone in 10 minutes or less). I was on a first name basis with the grocery store cashier and they got to know my regular items. Then I started adding energy drinks on top of all the sweet food and that really screwed things up further. It felt like my sleep was turning into resting rather then sleeping and I would constantly be woken up with stomach acid going straight up the throat.
Anywho, got the fitbit, went through sugar detox, cut the energy drinks out and now I have an orange or a pear at night.

I also find myself hungry around 9 pm. Depending on if it is crunchy or sweet that I want, I may have a very crispy piece of whole wheat toast with natural peanut butter, or have one or two oranges, cut up into wedges (like my mom used to do as a child). I try to nibble on the toast to make it last.

congrats on making the change. I used to pick up 2 meals at a fast food place if I worked late, as I didn't want people to know I was single. Of coarse I then ate both and wondered why i gained weight.

I used to feel like I was starving when I woke up every morning, so I experimented with bedtime snacks to feel more full...
I've seen info out there about reducing your blood sugar before you sleep, in which case you would want to eat little to nothing, but...
If you still want to snack I'd suggest something with a lot of fiber so it will fill you up and take a while to digest.
A handful of nuts like almonds have healthy fats and minerals - or you could try munching on some carrots, baby carrots before bed helped me fill up without feeling guilty.
