This is a little too late to help you immediately @KelZ96 but here are some good rules of thumb for future outings:
- Get your protein broiled if possible. That could be steak, chicken, or seafood.
- Stay away from anything battered; deep fried or not.
- Substitute starches for vegetables. Restaurants will usually substitute in an extra vegetable with little prompting. If that's not possible, ask for rice with a preference towards brown or long grain varieties.
