I did Weight Watchers for a number of years - through 2 balloon valuvuloplasty's on my heart and my father passing away I managed to lose over 80 pounds, but it took a while. I did most of it with just changing the way I ate...very little exercise, because I was a student as well. Well, WW changed their plan and I hate it. I had a routine, had learned to eat what I liked and fit it in, and when they changed it took those things away. So, when I got my FitBit, I not only learned I wasn't eating enough to shed my last 10 pounds, but that I could count calories and be happier.
I hit my goal in February. Then, I broke up with my boyfriend, moved, my car got rear-ended and totalled, my step father passed, I've had to work two jobs from school loans, and I can't find an awesome job for the schooling I have. So, I'm struggling. Not to mention that I moved back to my home town and my family are social drinkers. I never really used to drink. Maybe one or two every 3 months or so. Now, it's a couple times per week. I've put on 13 pounds. I can't go to my meetings anymore, because even though I'm lifetime, I'm 9 pounds over my max, so I have to pay and can't afford it right now. I wasn't doing so great at tracking my food, but I'm trying to get back to it. And, I'm trying to add exercise, but I bartend and hostess on weekends, so I'm surprised I'm not burning by being on my feet.
Any advice/help to motivate me would be great. I am really down. It's been a very rough year and I don't want to ruin everything I've worked for.

Im sorry you have had such a hard year. I do hope it gets better for you.
Alot of people do not switch to the new Programs when they come out at WW. If the like the old they stick with it. So if it worked for you go back to the one that did work.
I myself really like this new one as it does limit sugar. Its makes those points higher. But everything esle is the same. So people who ate a lot of sugar did not like it.
As for drinking get a sparkling water instead. Or have one drink and then Sparkling water.
If you like counting calories then stick to it.
If you feel you need the meetings work to getting back to 2# over goal and then you can go back fro free.

Thanks, Wendy. I eat a lot of oatmeal and cream of wheat, because I have a long commute and so I can eat it at my desk, but the packets do have a lot of sugar which causes issues with the new WW plan. Yes, if I can lose 10 pounds again, I can go back for free to the meetings. I just miss having a network of people to talk to, so I came here. I miss my meetings alot.
I'm going to try adding in workouts. I haven't worked out regularly in years, but it is good for my heart condition (it's recurring, so it helps if I'm active) and I'm thinking that already knowing how to eat, adding that back in, and watching the drinking - I can get it back again.
I just wanted people to talk to about it. Alot of my friends either don't care about their weight or they do, but they are so small already or try to lose weight the unhealthy way, so I don't really have anyone good to talk to about it. So, I do appreciate it.

Squeeze 96, I have never been myself but you could look into TOPS . I read they have EXCELLENT results even long term and there isn't the big expense. In the Houston area they have groups all over the place. I looked into it for my daughter and her friend who live sort of far apart and could go to one in between. My daughter lost 75 pounds on WW and then gained it all back. She need to lose again. Since you have found something that works for you I wouldn't presume to suggest something else but I wish my daughter would consider the 5 - 2 diet. It keeps your metabolism from slowing. You would continue to eat as you are now, go to TOPS meetings and diet only 2 days a week. It is easier for me to put out greater effort less of the time. Anyway I admire that you have just gained a little back. Hang in there. Don't give up. (The reason I don't go to TOPS is I'm not overweight) The reason TOPS is so successful is because they are so inexpensive people can continue to go and do.
