I’d would like to set a lower daily goal than 1000. Is this possible?

Hi @Cheezy
The calorie guidelines are set to 1000 -- 5000. This is based on healthy standards. Anything less than 1000 calories may be detrimental to your health. If you are a very small framed person and still trying to lose a few extra pounds, increasing exercise is a healthier option than continuing to reduced your calorie intake.

I calculated that you need a 1,000 calorie deficit is needed to lose 2 lbs a week, 8.5 lbs a month. On one hand this seems like an easy deficit: I can reduce 400 cals from my diet and another 600 through some exercise. On the other hand I'm concerned about muscle loss.
Is a 1,000 cal target per day a good number, or too much if fat loss/muscle preservation is the goal?

I’m on a 700-750 protein calorie diet and would like to use this app just to track my protein calories. Wishing the app would let the user customize this (calorie <1000) so the app could be more versatile.

Eating 1,000 extra calories a day for five days did not lead to any significant changes in weight, fat mass, or fasting blood sugar levels. But chronic overeating—eating 1,000 extra calories a day over the course of a month—was linked to a fat-mass increase of about 3 pounds, as well as increases in blood sugar.
