Scanning Food

Ok so I'm eating a salad from Tesco for my lunch, super healthy stuff, Have a bit of Balsamic Glaze on it. I go to scan the bar code it doesn't recognise the salad bar code. It does recognise the Balsamic Glaze.

Roughly 90% of the items I scan the Fitbit data base doesn't hold!!! what's going on. Why is this so bad.

Finally is there a way as a community we can add items to the database where the barcode is scanned in and saved, checked by Fitbit and released to the general public. This area of the app needs some serious attention.

It will also make it easier to track nutritional values and eating habits

Hi Janie, I use myFitnessPal to log my food.  They have millions of different foods in their database.  Then I sync myFitnessPal with my FITBITSmiley Wink

I wonder if fitbit will ever be as great as MFP. Would love to only need 1 app for all. Im in New Zealand and not many foods are found. NOTHING scans

How does the syncing work? I am curious why Fitbit will not allow for a scan of food items to be logged into the food or custom database without typing everything in by “finger”😎
