The Immune System Support Diet

Have you changed your diet during this difficult times?

The World Health Organization has announced dietary guidelines during the respiratory illnesses outbreak that stressed the “importance of a balanced diet to maintain a strong immune system,” and includes the recommendation to consume 4 servings of fruits and 5 servings of veggies every day.

Foods in the immune-supporting space are everything high in Vitamin C (from grapefruits to broccoli) and Vitamin E (from nuts to avocados). Other on-trend foods for fighting respiratory issues are elderberries, green tea (high in antioxidants), Vitamin D (from the sun or from food, like eggs) and garlic.

Are you consuming any of this?

🤔...very similar to the Keto diet, no?

I didn't plan on changing my diet during the pandemic, but it happened anyway. I started buying food at a natural foods co-op. It's smaller and less busy than the supermarket and I feel more comfortable shopping there and avoiding the crowds.

Of course, their products are a lot different and there are all kinds of new things for me to try. Now, I'm eating a lot more fruits and vegetables than I was and eating a much greater variety, in general. It's been interesting and it's nice to feel like I'm doing something proactive for my health.

Exactly @alexthecat, I also think it's best to do changes proactively in your life to improve health and wellness. That happened for me too, before all this chaos started I decided to start consuming more fruits and vegetables. Then I discover a lot of way to cook salads and all types of green food, you know spinach, leaf lettuce, collard greens, celery, broccoli... etc. As you said we have a lot of options. I'm glad that more and more people are changing their old diets into a healthiest choice. Thank you for sharing your experience about this. 🤗🥘
