What blender do you own and why?
Currently I have a glass Oster belnder, but I don't think they blender my ingredients well.
I've heard that the Vitamix and Blendtec blenders are fast and mix well, but they are very loud. They are very expensive compared to the Oster blender. I like how Oster has them in glass but the other brands look like only plastic.

I have an Oster 18-speed blender. It seems to be fine for me, however, the most I usually give it is a protein shake with hemp hearts and some frozen fruit. I've used it to blend ice as well and it's pretty decent. I just don't use a blender enough to spend as much as a higher end one costs.

I have had a vitamix for two years and use it daily. I wanted to be able to blend blueberries without leaving lots of pieces of skin to clog up my straw. It might be loud but it takes such a short time to blend everything.

We have an Oster (for light stuff) and a Vitamix (for serious blending). We have had the Vitamix for so many years that I can't remember when we got it. It came with a stainless steel canister with a spigot, and years later they came out with two clear plastic canisters - one for liquids and one for grinding grains - which do not have the spigot. We bought the upgraded clear plastic canisters as soon as they became available. After over 30 years of almost daily use, the Vitamix is still going strong and shows no signs of wearing out any time soon. The Oster, on the other hand, is seldom used.
But, I have my eye on a new Ninja Blender that I saw at Sam's Club. The blades in that thing look awesome! If you haven't seen the Ninja Blender, you may want to check it out. Here is a link to their page: Ninja Blender Duo

I have a Breville blender. Why? Because every pedestrian blender I've ever tried using has gone Tango Uniform shortly after the load became too intense. The Breville blender has pureed everything I've thrown at it for the last five years and doesn't miss a tick.

@USAF-Larry - I don't own a food processor, and occasionally I'll think about getting one. Costco Canada has this Ninja combo http://www.costco.ca/Ninja-Mega-Kitchen-System.product.100292642.html which looks interesting.

That looks similar to the one I saw in Sam's Club, @A_Lurker.

Yeah, once you've had a Breville I don't see how you can ever go back to a mass market blender. 🙂

@pandafitness I have a Nutri-Bullet that I got with a Target gift card that works great. It's a high powered blender that does almost everything that I want.
If I was looking to upgrade though, I would probably get a refurbished blendtec blender. The refurbished models are around $120 cheaper than a new blendtec blender.
When it comes to blending things like kale, the Nutri-Bullet sometimes leaves hunks of kale in the smoothie; while the blendtec blender won't.

I have Vitamix. Even though it is loud, it takes only few seconds to blend even frozen fruits. I use it at least once everyday. I blend soups too. It is very smooth. Yes, it is expensive, but it is worth investing.

I have Vitamix. Sure it was an expensive investment but I have zero regret. I've been using it for a few years now and still performed like new.
In 5 minutes you can actually make hot soup

I have, and use my Vitamix on a daily basis. Smoothies at breakfast time are the main use, but I also use it to make einkorn flour, oat flour, and/or brown rice flour for baked goods. Can't remember the last time I bought a nut butter since my Vitamix makes the best nut butters, and at a fraction of the price!
In the summer I use it for making Margaritas!

LOL - what a difference 4 months made. I ended up buying a Vitamix when I was revamping/ reorganizing the kitchen stuff. I'm still not sure I use it enough to justify the purchase, but it does a very decent job.

Interesting, @A_Lurker. We have had out Vitamix since somewhere back in the mid-70's - back in the days when they had the stainless steel containers instead of the plastic ones - and it still gets regular use.

I used to have a Breville, the "Blend and Go" or whatever it's called - the green one. It was great at first but soon became weak and a frustration.
I now have a NutriBullet and it's my favourite thing. It's primary use seems to be for blending pancake mix at the minute. I've found that blending in shorter and wider cups is more efficient than taller slimmer cups - A bigger surface area of food getting to the blade, less of a distance for bigger and harder to blend things to get down to the blade, and much easier to clean.
I got the 8 piece NutriBullet set for abut £60 from Tesco a few months back, so a pretty good deal for what they can be priced at! I to everybody once they get sick of their Breville!
