What does fitbit app measure in Kcal or cal?

Just wondering in the fit bit app do "cals" mean actually mean "kcal" but they just assume everyone knows that food nutrition value is actually written in kcal, or is it?(halp pls idk), so they just put call?

Whenever fitbit refer to "cals" or "calories" they mean kcal.

So basically 3080 cal means 780 calories?

@Gundeeplovy if your fitbit says you have burned 3080 calories then it means that you have burned 3080 kcal

Hi Steve, does it include only active calories or both active & resting calories?

@Janakadis it always shows total calories: active + BMR (resting)

I think it's just common usage to use the term "calories" to mean kilocalories. I think that if they used the full, correct, kilocalories, there would be people confused at that and asking whether they mean calories.

On food labels kcal is used (as it should be) and people are not confused
about that.... Why would they be confused here?
(a few probably will be if it is changed, now, but why not start with the
proper use)
