Hi, i am looking for some snacks that i can make at home. i like salty things instead of sweet so i am always reaching for chips. I need something that i don't feel guilty eating.
Thanks

Best AnswerScarlet26...get stevia. Liquid stevia. There are different brands, but look for ones that say ''non bitter.'' They are getting better all the time. They even have caramel, vanilla, and hazelnut flavoured liquid and powdered stevia for people who like to primarily add it to coffee or tea. I make a lemonaide with club soda, fresh lemons and stevia and extra ice. Put it in a big mason jar and I usually feel hydrated and lighter/ cleaner after. 🙂
Health food stores also generally carry xylitol (which is now being put into more gum) and erethrytol (spelling?) and these are derived from alcohol molecules. They are not like artificial sweetners/ chemicals, but they don't taste exactly like sugar, either. If you can find a good tasting stevia, it's probably your best bet.
Some people will use a combination of stevia and agave syrup. They get to a rough 'sweetness' level with the stevia and then add a TINY bit of honey just to disguise the taste a little and make the drink taste more classically sweet (some people do this with a tiny bit of brown sugar, which is my favourite for taste).
There is also a brown sugar/ splenda blend. But I personally don't think Splenda is that healthy. All the same, I know people who eat splenda and prefer it over regular sugar.
Oh, apparently in taste tests, these stevia brands come up as best tasting:
-NuNaturals white stevia
-Now Foods Organic stevia (this is the one I use, but I get Now Foods liquid stevia, usually in hazelnut for coffee. And if you live in Canada, they should have it too (I live in Canada, and many of the stevia brands that are recommended to me aren't available here)). Now Foods makes a brand called ''Better Stevia - Zero Calorie Sweetner'' in plain (no-added flavours) or a variety of flavours. I've even seen blueberry and cinnamon flavours!
-Sweetleaf Stevia (through Wisdom Naturals. Maybe only available in the US?)
-California Extracts Alcohol-Free Stevia
-Stevita Liquid Stevia
-Planetary Herbals liquid stevia
-Frontier Naturals stevia
*for the record, of that list, I've only tried the NOW ''Better Stevia'' brand. One thing about stevia...don't OVERsweeten with it! It can start to taste herbally. And it is VERY concentrated. Just add a few drops at a time, take a sip etc. before adding more.
Best Answerthanks for the idea. I am going to try the buffalo cauliflower bites tonight for the game.![]()
Best AnswerI've recently started eating seaweed sheets. 30 calories in a serving of 10 sheets (along with 50% of the daily recommended amount of Vitamin A). A pack (two servings) was the same price as a bag of chips, but these are way better. I found them at my regular grocery store, but I imagine there is even more variety at a speciality store.

Best AnswerOne thing I like to do is baked zuchinni with a bit of a chili powder blend. Slice them about 1" thick and into triangle pieces, sprinkle with a TINY bit of your favorite spices/seasoning, and bake at 425 until the tops are dry. My oven in wonky so I'd watch yours carefully the first time, but it takes about 15 minutes. You can also do this in a skillet but it's easy to burn them that way.

A snack has to be simple and delicious. Try pieces of celery with hummus. Delicious, easy and fast while you're watching your favorite movie!
Hi! A good way I've gotten around eating the whole bag is, I'll buy snack bags and I'll separate it into little serving sizes. It's a good way to watch what you eat and control how much you eat 🙂 My husband would eat the whole darn chip bag, I got tired of it so I do that now. haha

How about sliced green apple with super chunky peanut-butter spread for the daily protein dose.

A warm welcome to our new friend @Ash13! That's a fantastic healthy snack suggestion. Besides, sunflower seeds provide a high source of protein. Excellent to keep a balanced diet! ![]()
