Did you mean:

meal logger

is there a way to create a meal and then track a porton of the meal.  Like I made a crock pot of beef stew but I will only eat a cup of it.  I want to know how to use the tracker with in fitbit to track that.

If you use my fitnesspal.com in syncs with your fitbit tracker. You log all of your info thru fitnesspal including meals, water and exercise. You can even make recipes so that you can log just a serving of a recipe you made. Just log the ingredients as you cook, FP even has a barcode scanner to scan packages. I love it. I think there are other apps and websites that count calories that sync with fitbit too. Hope this helps.

I guess I was just hoping to use one interface.  I do use MFP currently.  Was hoping that I could just use the fitbit interface and not have to use 2 apps.  oh well no biggie. Thanks!

I too would rather not use 2 apps  I have enough of that in my life.   I love Fit Bit,  but the food tracker seems to rely on processed food which I won't eat.   We should be able to load a recipie and save it and then parcel out portions.

Hello,

I have found that the best way is to put all the info in for the entire pot, then just do the math and divide by however many servings you'll get out of the pot. If it's something you plan to eat all the time like a home made soup or chili or something then it is definitely worth the work.

If you know you'll get say 10 portions out of the pot, divide calories by 10, carbs by 10, etc.... Then just create a custom food and call it whatever you want and just make sure when you make the pot you eat 1/10th of it or whatever it works out to be for you.

Sounds complicated, but has worked several times for me when I have made a home made soup that I ate every single day!

Happy cooking!

The reason I came to this discussion board is because I, too, am getting frustrated when I want to log my food and all options are for prepared brands or restaurants.  Shouldn't real food come first in a fitness oriented listing?  I cook and garden...

Agreed!! What's an example of something that isn't coming up for you? I found that for like fresh whole tomatoes you have to actually type in "red tomatoes" otherwise it just suggests canned brands and stuff. Maybe it does that with other veggies too?
