13 Year Old Inspire 3

Trying to set up Inspire 3 for my 13 year old. We have to Google Family Link all set up and when we go to link her device, only Ace watches are options to link. Why can’t we link an Inspire 3 for our 13 year old?

Hi @TorieDlo    Family Link has its own privacy protections.  Other parents say that you can remove your child from Family Link, then set it up.  They say you can add your child back.  Some say it can take a day between steps.

Just to be complete, a child must be 16 and older in some EU countries because of their age restrictions.

I don’t have personal experience, but moderators give these instructions.

Take a look at the Fitbit help site for further assistance and information.

@LZeeW Thank you for your help and sharing the info.

@TorieDlo , A warm welcome to the Community! Thank you for your message and efforts.

As mentioned by our friend LZeeW , depending on your location the minimum age may vary. Here you'll find the minimum age for using a "grown up" account.

Age requirements on Google Accounts

If you are located in a country where your son/daughter  is already over the minimum age, (eg. 13 in the US. ) you and your son/daughter will receive a confirmation email  then, you should follow the steps described here: How does my child upgrade their account?

Please keep in mind, that the email is sent autocratically done and may take a few days after the birthday date .
