13 year old cannot sync an Inspire 3

The info i read is that you need to be 13 and older to be able to sync your inspire 3 to your phone. This is the case for my daughter and yet the only option available to her is to sync to an ace 3 tracker. Why? We live in the UK so maybe the minimum age is higher but i could not find any info on the web. Thanks.

According to the link the mod posted, Europe varies from 14 to 16.

I am also having the same issue with my daughter - she is 14 and received an inspire 3 for Christmas. I have followed instructions shared here to remove the supervision of her google account via family link but I can only see the Ace devices in her list. 

I don't know what Age restrictions are in place in Australia - it was not in the list of countries you shared earlier. 

What else do I need to do? Please help!

I really appreciate your messages and feedback, and I’m sorry to hear many of you are still experiencing this setup issue. 

@varizzi You are right. The only Fitbit devices intended for children are the Ace devices. In order to set up a regular device for children (reaching minimum age requirement), you have to update your child's account. 

@y_runner Thank you for sharing and detailing the steps of your solution. I appreciate the time you took to share it with us.

@heymissjo In alignment with Australian regulations for access to social media by minors under 16 years of age, the device could not be configured if your child is 14 years old. 

If you cannot complete the setup according to the steps indicated by @y_runner in this thread, or you have difficulty receiving the email to upgrade the account, I respectfully suggest you contact support at the following link, since they have more tools to find your options. Contact Us.

Thanks @y_runner and @MarioSFitbit  - I actually had to wait 24 hours rather than the 10 hours and then I got the confirmation email from fitbit that my daughters account had been upgraded. Thanks both for your assistance. I appreciate it 🙂
