Add a driving mode on Fitbit devices

There really needs to be a driving mode for us CDL drivers who drive on bumpy roads and for people in general. I’m tired of having to log every single drive at work so that the app recalculates my steps taken, but if I don’t then my steps are way over-counted because it counts a ton of steps during my drive time. If you have the same problem please upvote this post to see if we can get some traction, I know this has been an issue for a long time. I know no step tracker is perfect, but I think adding a drive mode would help a lot with accuracy.

Even though we don't offer this option, there are a few work around for this issue. If you know the hours when the extra driving “steps” were added, you can log “driving”.  Driving is built into the data base and logging driving will cause the steps detected during driving to be suppressed.  Here are the instructions for logging driving.

  1. Open your App.
  2. On the Exercise tile, tap the + icon and then choose Log or Log Previous.
  3. Type  Driving into the search box. Make sure the exercise details overlap with the time period your device logged the unwanted steps or floors.
  4. Tap Add or Log it. Your steps, floors (if available - the Inspire 3 does not count floors) and calories burned will decrease for the time period you specified.
