Adding Steps but it’s untouched on table

I have my Inspire 3 on my table charging. It constantly is increasing the steps by over a thousand every time I look on my app, but I’m not touching the Fitbit. It says I now have over 30,000 steps and I just got the Fitbit less than a hour ago. 

is there a way to delete past amounts to start from scratch? I got a badge today, but I didn’t earn it

Only way to start from scratch is to create new account with different email.

But in any case on phone app tap battery icon at top left to get to "Connected to Fitbit" screen. If your phone is there as a Fitbit device, remove it.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
