I have a Fitbit Alta HR and I opened an account with Fitbit when I started using it.
I use a web browser to access my Fitbit account. I am not using an app on my phone or on my desktop. I'm only accessing my Fitbit account through my Chrome web browser.
My account already has a device on it (my current Fitbit Alta HR).
I am looking at buying an Inspire 3 because the Fitbit Alta's battery is malfunctioning after only 3 years and I need a replacement.
(* From searching this forum, it looks like people have had problems having more than 1 device on a Fitbit account).
If I get the Inspire 3, can I add this new device to my Fitbit account even if I already have the Alta HR account on my account?

From Can I use more than one Fitbit device with the same account?
So it looks that the Alta HR is old enough that it can co-exist with the Inspire 3, but I don't think you can add new devices through the web browser any longer.

Hi @Goyim you still need an app in order to sync your data to the Fitbit servers. The website is just for viewing and that has been changing lately, too.

Thanks to those who responded.
I access my Fitbit account thru a web browser. It does sync data from my Fitbit Alta HR to my account. I can tell from just looking at the data in my account after I exercise.
If I need an app to sync my data or do other things, like adding devices to my account, where do I get the app?
And does the app work on Windows 7? I run Windows 7 on this desktop because it has multiple USB ports and I connect the Fitbit USB connector to this desktop. The USB connector connects the Alta HR to the desktop.

@Goyim the Windows app was discontinued October 13, 2022. The dongle that was used acted as a bridge for the Fitbit Connect software to take your device's data and upload it to the Fitbit server. That no longer is possible. You need to add any device to your smartphone or tablet by the Fitbit app that you can download free. The app for the computer no longer works. If your Alta has been syncing, I'll assume that you do have a smart phone, with the fitbit app installed, that the Alta has been syncing through. As @Odyssey13 states, you will.use the phone to setup the Inspire 3.
Past experience makes me think the Alta will be removed durring this setup. Once the Inspire 3 is setup, you will have no issues adding back the Alta.

Rich_Laue, as I said in my earlier post, I do NOT use an app on my smartphone. I use a web browser to log in to my Fitbit account. Thru the web browser, I can see my activity stats, etc.
The Alta HR device I wear syncs to my account. I do not have to connect the Alta HR device to the USB dongle to have it synched. It does so via bluetooth.

As mentioned above by @Odyssey13 @, if you want to add the Inspire 3, you will only be able to do this through a smart phone.
Fitbit did announce that they disabled the windows app 6 months ago, mailing it impossible to sync through a windows PC, however maybe it still does sync.
However if you do have a smart phone, with the fitbit app installed, even though you never ever open the app, this phone would still be syncing the watch
BTW the web interface ren updated in 5-6 years. While it does provide displaying the info available from the Alta, it will not show any of the advanced data the Inspire 3 can record.
Without using the phone app, the inspire 3 really would not be worth the update.
