Cancel Old information

I have old info from years ago. How do I erase all that old info so I  can start again with a clean slate?

Hi, @HappyNana3 , the easiest way to do this is to create a new account.  You will need a new email address to do this and now all new accounts must use a Gmail address so if your old account didn’t use Gmail you will need to have one.  If your old account did use Gmail you will need to create a new one.  (Please see this Google help article if you need a new Google account and don’t know how to create one.)

Next, log out of your old account (click on person photo/icon to go to the Account page, and scroll down to “log out”). 

Open the Fitbit app and tap Sign in with Google. Tap Continue as a new user. Choose a Google Account. 

Once you are logged in as a new user, again go to the account page and choose to set up your device (presumably Inspire 3?) .  If your device is new, or you haven’t used it in 30 or more days, just go ahead and set it up.  If you have recently used your device you may want to clear user data before setting it up so that everything is fresh.  To clear user data on the Inspire 3, from the clock face on your device swipe down until you come to the “settings” area.  Tap to open, and then swipe up and then tap on “device info” . Swipe up to find “clear user data” Tap to open this setting, swipe up, and click and hold to clear the data.

Once your device is set up on your new Account please be sure to use that email log in and your chosen password whenever you want to check anything.

If you want, you can keep your old account and continue to refer to it by using your old log in.  If you prefer you can delete the account completely.  However it can take up to 90 days for the account to disappear completely, which is why I recommended beginning by simply creating a new account.  For full information on how to delete your old account completely please see this help article .
