It seems like Fitbit refuses to allow this functionality. If I set a custom zone it won't allow zone notifications on the watch. This is the only function I bought a fitness tracker for. I don't want to have to look at the watch constantly on my workouts. I'm disappointed I wasted my money on this device. I don't expect fitbit to change its mind when it seems like this is a long-requested, long-ignored feature, so I'll be finding a different device to use. Maybe someone will see this post before they make the same mistake I did and save themselves the time and money and frustration and get a different product.

Hello @SunsetRunner and welcome to the Community. I'm sorry that your Fitbit won't meet your needs. I completely agree that a custom zone should have vibration feedback. Otherwise, what's the point? But the reason for my post is to remind you that Fitbit has a 45 day return policy and I hope you can get your money back.
I don't have experience with any other brands, so I can't suggest an alternative.
