Deleting Steps

Today, I used my walking pad for roughly 2 hours and at 2.0 speed and I took over 10,000 steps. My daily step goal is 8,000 and when I hit that goal, I got the step goal animation on my watch and the notification on my phone that I met my goal. After the walk I synced my watch again and everything updated correctly on the app. I added my workout to the exercise tap as a 'Walk' for the correct duration and everything seemed fine. I checked back later and over 5,000 steps were gone and now it says I only have 4,495 steps but the active zone minutes are still the same. Now, suddenly I can't find the notification that I made my step goal. I tried resetting the watch itself, then I did the reset while having it plugged into the cable. I also tried deleting and reinstalling the app. What is going on? Why are my steps resetting. I did a lot of work to hit that goal and it's gone. Should I just get an Apple Watch instead? This is super disappointing because now I feel like I did nothing.

I noticed the glitch occurs when you log any kind of workout. Once I go back and delete the workout, my steps suddenly reappear correctly. On top of that, When I go back to any other day I wore my Fitbit, my steps now say the EXACT number of steps as I currently have for 'Today'...(with the exception of the days I delete a workout on. Sounds like Fitbit has some work to do. I may have to finally part ways.
