Exercise data is missing from the Fitbit app

I've had my Fitbit for over a year and have not had any issues with exercise data disappearing. Everything was fine when I went to bed last night, but this morning I noticed that all of Wednesdays exercises are now gone. It isn't showing that I did any exercise that day, though it does still show the 52K+ steps I did. Obviously you can't have that many steps unless you've actually done exercise, and there should be a number of activities logged for that day. All other exercise data from the other days are still correct. How do I recover the info that should be here for the now missing day?

My Fitbit app is UTD, my Fitbit itself also has the latest update. I've gone through the help and done all of things that were suggested, but none of it has solved the issue. Am I now going to have to take screenshots of all my exercise data each day and keep it on file so that if it randomly decides to delete all my hard work that I can go through the hassle of manually inputting it?

Is there a way to restore the missing info?

Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

I should also have mentioned that while the app now shows exercise on every day EXCEPT Wednesday this week, my Fitbit tracker is still showing exercise on all 7 days.

I have the same issue. Two consecutive Wednesday's the activity duration minutes have disappeared in Exercise Days?

Best Answer

Yes, my exercise this past Wednesday also disappeared, making it two Wednesdays in a row. It was showing when I went to bed Thursday night, but was not there when I opened the app late Friday morning.

As before, my Fitbit tracker is still registering Wednesday, as it shows "Exercise 6 of 5" but the app is now showing only 5. I have no idea why it's deleting my Wednesday exercises from the app, but I'm not happy about it. Especially since I have no idea how long this is going to continue and if other days exercise will also begin to disappear. I had hoped someone from Fitbit would have responded by now. 😞

At least now I know I'm not alone with this issue. Thanks for the reply.

I just realized the exercise data from Monday September the 16th has disappeared for me too. I have exercised everyday this month but now looks like I haven’t. I tried to re enter the info, it shows for a few seconds then disappears again. So frustrating!  Does FitBit have a fix?

The good news is, all those missing App data are probably still on the Google server and not actually lost.

Getting those missing App data restored can be quite painful it seems, however.

Two of the easiest things to try would be to just restart the Inspire 3 and the phone.

If that doesn't work, try deleting the App cache and data, force-stop the App, restart the phone and then open the App again to log back into your account, which should sync all the server data to the App again.

In the Fitbit app, I noticed my exercise history appears to be recorded correctly in the monthly view. The problem I am having is the monthly view says I worked out 7 days in a week (correct), the image in the weekly view reports 2 exercise days (wrong), and the statement on the weekly view says I worked out 3 days (wrong). The monthly view makes me think my data is still being captured, but the weekly view is reporting it incorrectly in the app.

Using: iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 17.7, Fitbit app version 4.26, and firmware 63.20001.26

Exercise days from a few days ago keep disappearing. Even when I log them manually they show up for a few minutes then disappear. Only 5 of the last 22 exercise days are showing. I've tried all of the suggestions but none of th worked.

I have the same issue, my exercise has disappeared from yesterday.  I had issues yesterday with the App updating so had to go through the whole troubleshooting again og switching off, unpairing restarting, re-pairing etc., which I am now having to do every few days!  Once everything started again my fitbit synced with the App and everything was OK however this morning the information ha gone.  I did over 20k steps yesterday and it is only showing over 1k now.    ARE GOOGLE MAKING THIS DIFFICULT FOR US SI WE WILL STOP USING OUR FITBITS AND PURCHASE A GOOGLE PRODUCT?

Hi everyone. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I understand your concern, we're here to help you!

Please note that we were having issues with the workouts missing from the Fitbit app. However, I'd like to share with you that this issue has been fixed.

If you're still having issues, please try to force quit the app and turn your phone off and on again.

I have done that several times however yesterday's information is still incorrect.  why do I have to do this every few days now and then lose some previous information which I then cannot get back?  Are there still bugs which need fixed?  I have had various fitbits over the last 10 years or so and have never had any issues with them.  I have had my current fitbit for a least 2 years and never had any issues until now.

My issue with missing exercise data has been resolved with Fitbit app update 4.26.1.

I also updated iOS to 18 prior to doing the Fitbit update.

Actually it has not been fixed. My Fitbit no longer auto recognizes my exercises since a few weeks ago. So now I have to remember to start the tracker at the beginning of my exercises and stop it when I am done. And if I forget altogether I have to record it after the fact. And that is what is not working. I can add any activity I like and after a minute or so, poof, it’s gone.
My fitbit was working beautifully for well over a year. Since a couple of weeks one thing after another has stopped working, cannot be corrected. The “improvements” are breaking the fitbit. I will muddle through a little bit longer, then switch to another brand of fitness tracker because I don’t trust Google to keep it working. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

Almost a month and still not fixed yet they expect me to pay 100$ a year? About to just return it and go Apple Watch. Unacceptable.

This issue is absolutely NOT fixed. Just this morning 3 days of this week's exercises disappeared. I'm at the point where I think Google bought fitbit just to destroy it. I've been using fitbits since the Classic & Ultra and am looking at other trackers now. This is a HUGE disappointment.

The issue is NOT fixed. The primary goal of this product is to log exercises and that you can't support that one function is ludicrous! It's like a mobile phone that doesn't make calls.

I have a versa 3 and this is an issue for me right now. None of your suggestions made a lick of difference. So what can you do?

I'm here with the same problem 😭

I have restarted my phone and done force stop. My added activities have not been restored.

What else can I do to fix this? So many added activities have been wiped out of my history!

When I called in, they said that they were rolling out a fix and that I
should give it until October 6th. If it's still not updated, I will call
back.
