Fitbit Inspire 3 blank display

Hey all, so, I just got a brand new Fitbit Inspire 3, fresh out of the box yesterday.

I've been able to get haptic feedback from it since the start (vibration), but the screen stayed black.

I decided to plug it in to fully charge in case that was the problem, first for a couple hours, then overnight. I know the charging cables and plug work because I got haptic feedback when I plugged it in too.

No matter how long it's been left to charge, I still can't get the display to function.

My phone detects the Fitbit when it's nearby and prompts me to pair it, but I get stuck on the "enter the 4-digit pin" step because my fitbit displays absolutely nothing.

I've tried doing a restart on it more times than I can count. After holding the button down for about 10 seconds the logo will briefly flash on the screen so I know the display isn't BROKEN, but I can't get anything EXCEPT the logo to show up on the screen.

Any advice or potential fixes are welcome!

That's unfortunately the only solution to this problem it seems. I reached out to customer support yesterday and they said I'd essentially done all of the troubleshooting possible on my end.

I've begun the process of an exchange replacement, they sent me an email with a shipping label and instructions on how to return the fitbit. It's pretty straight-forward, but a little tedious considering this was brand-new straight out of the package!
All things considered, they were extremely helpful and pleasant about the whole thing. They told me to keep all the hardware and accessories and I should have a replacement device within the next week or two.

Ultimately I hope this thread winds up being an answer for other people dealing with the same problem, because I felt like I was running around in circles trying to find ANYBODY who knew what I was experiencing!

Hi, @Melly9812 , don’t worry!  This problem can often be fixed.  First I would give your Inspire 3 a restart:  plug the Fitbit in to charge (even if it doesn’t seem to be charging) using the supplied cable and a plug known to be working.  Then while it is still plugged in and charging hold the sides of the Inspire 3 for about 10 seconds (possibly longer if it is not responding).  After about 10 seconds you should see the Fitbit logo.  A restart is usually the first troubleshooting step and can fix many issues - you will not lose any data by restarting.  Sometimes you need to repeat the restart procedure a couple of times as a single restart does not always work.

If the screen continues to be black or glitchy, then you should also try changing the clock face - you do this in the app and the instructions are here .

Good luck, and let us know how it goes.  Welcome to the forums!

Hey, yeah, I've tried restarting the Fitbit probably two dozen times now with no luck. I also can't change the clock face because I haven't even been able to pair the device with my phone in the first place (I get stuck on the "enter 4-digit pin" step because I can't see the pin on screen).

I'm sorry. Sounds like you should contact the seller for a refund/replacement.
