I bought my Fitbit Inspire 3 in the summer of last year, and everything was working fine, except for the fact that the Fitbit Inspire 3 just wouldn’t track the number of floors I climbed.
A few days ago, I changed some settings in the Fitbit app — I disabled the auto-start for walking workouts. The next day, the workout started automatically again, so I decided to reconnect the Fitbit Inspire 3. Since then, I haven’t been able to pair the devices for several days.
I've tried all the troubleshooting steps:
And still — "something went wrong" after entering the 4-digit code.
The Fitbit Inspire 3 display says that I need to download the Fitbit app and shows the some date.
Does this mean I need to find the version of the app from that time?
What else do I need to do to solve the problem?
** I wanted to attach a screenshot of the error and a photos of the Fitbit display, but even on this forum everything keeps showing errors, OMG: The message body contains numbres-morenumbers, which is not permitted in this community. Please remove this content before sending your post.

Hi, @walcontent , thank you for all the information you have provided about trying to set up your Inspire 3 on your Pixel 6a. First of all, that phone is definitely compatible, so it should be possible to set it up.
I am a little confused about just what is going on. In your post you say that everything was working fine with your Inspire 3 last year, except for counting floors. (Just BTW the Inspire 3 does not have an altimeter built in so it definitely will never count floors! It isn’t designed to do that…). That makes me wonder whether you had your Inspire connected to a different phone before? Do you still have that phone working ? In that case it could be interfering with setting up your Inspire 3 with your new phone. If you still have an older phone that used to be connected to your Inspire 3 then please do remove it from your old phone by going to the Fitbit app on the old phone and deleting it (select Inspire 3 and click on the trashcan icon and confirm deletion)
Once you have done all that, I would recommend is trying to do a complete “clean” set up. Ideally on your phone settings forget any other Bluetooth devices connected to your Pixel 6a. Also ideally turn off Bluetooth any other devices within range, and definitely delete any Android files with older versions of the Fitbit app (those definitely won’t help you!!)
First make sure your Inspire 3 has a good charge (more than 50% helps). Next log out of your Fitbit account and then log back in again, and immediately after logging in give your Inspire 3 a restart. It sounds like you have done this before so you know how, but just in case, here is a link for instructions for the restart .
So with a fresh restart of the Fitbit, and a fresh log in to your account, and all other Bluetooth devices removed or out of way, try the set up procedure again - you know the drill - make sure Bluetooth is turned on on your phone, and the phone and Fitbit are close to each other, and then from the opening screen of the Fitbit app (Today) click on the small icon top left (watch and phone) and on the next screen scroll to Add more Devices. From the drop down list of devices select Inspire 3 and follow the instructions from there.
Hopefully that will get you set up. If you get the error message “something went wrong” again, try another restart of the Fitbit. If it continues to happen that suggests that the Bluetooth on the Fitbit may have failed. In that case I would recommend getting in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on contact.fitbit.com and they can assist you further.
Good luck and let us know how it goes. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums!
