Fitbit Inspire 3 not connecting

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Fitbit Inspire 3 is not connecting to a workout app. It is no longer tracking my steps and only tracking steps that are calculated from the workouts in the app. It previously tracked my step s even if I wasn't doing a workout just regular walking. Is anyone having the same problem?

Hi, @Kueenbean, Welcome to the community. Are you talking about a third party workout app? If so, can you please let us know which one? Please also let us know the make & model of your phone Fitbit setup requirements - Help explains issues that you may have.  On the basis that you are reporting that your Inspire 3 is not tracking steps or syncing to the Fitbit app. I recommend creating a clean slate & setting it all up again.

First, restart your Inspire 3 -

Method 1: Force Restart (for unresponsive devices)
    1. Connect your Inspire 3 to its charging cable.

    2. Press and hold the side buttons for 10 seconds.

    3. Release the buttons. The tracker will restart when it vibrates and the Fitbit logo appears.

  • If it doesn't restart, try again. Sometimes it can take a couple of attempts.

Method 2: Software Restart (for when the screen is working)
  • Wake up the screen by pressing the side buttons.
  • Swipe down from the top of the screen.
  • Scroll to and tap Settings.
  • Scroll up to find and tap Restart Device.
  • Tap the restart button to confirm.
  • Wait for the device to restart, which may take up to a minute.

Next, delete and reload the Fitbit app on your phone using the following process: After restarting your Fitbit device, go to your phone settings>connected devices>Inspire 3>forget. Go to your phone's settings > Apps > Fitbit > Force stop>clear storage>uninstall. RESTART YOUR PHONE. Go to the Play Store and reload the Fitbit app, log in with your Google account & set up your device again & re-pair the Inspire 3 to your phone, if you synced at the beginning; your data will be safe.

Please post here again & let us know how you get on

Cheers

The app wasn’t working today.  Yesterday the heart rate on app wasn’t working.  I used method 1, connected Fitbit to charging cable and held  side buttons for 10 seconds which fixed the issue.  Thanks.

Thank you so much for your advice. I tried it. It didn't work for me. But I'll keep my eyes out for any more advice that could possibly help. Thanks!
