It seems most of the discussion on treadmills revolve around running on a treadmill and distance measurement.
I'm really more interested in step counting and I use an under desk treadmill while I'm working so my arm movement isn't going to be an accurate measure. Most of the topics address these use cases and aren't answering this specific question.
Can I accomplish this with my Inspire 3? I quit using it a few months ago because the band broke and I found I was rarely viewing my steps (or any stats really). Now that I have the treadmill and I'm trying to get more focused on fitness, I have a renewed interest but I hate to throw money at it only to find out it isn't going to do what I want.
If not this, any guidance on another fitbit product or google watch that might accomplish what I'm after?

This article suggests that you can wear the Inspire 3 device on your ankle, which should work for your application.
