I bought an Inspire 3 for me and also one for my wife.
The I pad will only allow me to sync one Inspire 3 .

Hi @retepq you need your own accounts, so get another email address and create another Fitbit account. You will sync, then log out and let the next person log in and sync. Be sure to get your Inspire 3 out of range while setting up the wife's device. It will work just fine. Let us know how it goes for you. Welcome to the forums.
