How to turn off automatic exercise tracking?

ANSWERED

I have an Inspire 3 and since the last update it keeps recognising when I’m on a walk and putting up the sport tracking screen. I turned auto recognition off for all sports in settings weeks ago, didn’t do anything. This mode won’t let you access the main screen and hides all the data that I actually want to look at (heart rate and total daily steps), making it pretty much useless to me.

I usually end up manually quitting the walk like five times in between to get back to the home screen but you can imagine that’s not super practical. Is there any way to turn iff that feature for real?

Hi @cup-noodle   That update added an Auto-start feature that opens the Exercise app on the Inspire 3 and is in six shortcuts: walk, run, bike, elliptical, rowing, and spinning.  You turn this off on the Inspire 3.  Swipe left/ right on your screen and find the Walk shortcut in the Exercise app.  Swipe up on the tiny "^" at the bottom of the screen to get to the shortcut settings.  Look for Auto-start and toggle it off.

This is different from the changes you made in the app.  It is a different feature.  If you swim and track it the same way (automatically), then you must also turn Auto-start off in the Rowing shortcut.  Swimming activates the Rowing shortcut.

I have this feature on my Sense 2.  I turned this feature off in all my shortcuts to minimize annoyances.  IMO, the Auto-start feature is a solution in search of a problem.
